How Did We Get Here?…and How Do We Get Out?

in Character

balloonThe answer to these questions is important to our Program Participants.  Often in our society, we see in our media the tragic and dramatic:  9/11, car wrecks, fires, robberies, murders….and on and on.  Many times these events seem to come on people through no fault of their own.  They also contribute to the idea that we really have no say in what happens to us.

This is a deception that the liar-in-chief wants us all to believe and accept so we do not interfere with his operations here on planet Earth.

What is the chain of events that gets us from Point A to Point B in our lives?  It starts with a thought.

Thoughts are very important. If you have access to Bible software put “thought’ in the search engine. You will have some quality reading time ahead. I had 821 “hits” in my computer Bible.

Thoughts can provide us with a new invention, a cure for cancer, or a new business; or they can be the beginning of new and better ways to manufacture crack cocaine,  ‘meth,’ or grow marijuana.

What is that sequence?

1.) A thought becomes..

2.) A written or spoken word. This ‘word’ motivates an individual to…

3.) An action or a series of actions. These actions repeated over a period of time become…

4.) A habit which when it is exercised over a period of time becomes…

5.) A standard of our conduct which collected with all the other standards of our conduct form our…

6.) Character – that outward projection of who we are morally.

For our Program Participants, after a saving knowledge of Jesus, that “renewing of your mind” the Bible speaks about in Romans 12:2 is an important process in reforming all the steps that follow “the thought” to produce a needed change in their character.

It is a universal truth that what you spend your time focusing on re-forms your attitude and character.  For many of our Program Participants their thoughts and the following links in the chain have led them to life-controlling problems and much suffering for everyone around them.  It is time for all of us to focus more on Jesus and His Word, continue the renewing of our minds,  so that, over time, we can become more like Him.
