About Us

Meet The Need is based in Duluth, GA.  We have 5 ministry homes that can house a total of 45 men. Three of the homes are located in Gwinnett County and two are in Barrow County.

We at Meet the Need receive daily requests from men in many different areas of need.

• Men coming out jail or prison with no place to stay
• Men coming from county rehab centers with no place to stay
• Men coming from local co-ops
• Men coming from church referrals
• Men coming directly from families who can no longer stay at home because of their addictions or incarceration

Our diversity of program participants creates challenges that other programs may not experience. We have a dual goal for each man that comes to us.  About 90% of the homeless men that come here also have some type of addiction (drugs, alcohol, pornography, sex, and/or money).  Since we are a Christian organization, we make no apologies that our number one goal is to make sure that each man that walks through our doors learns how to facilitate their relationship with the Lord.  Combined with this goal we teach our men how to overcome their addictions through Biblical principles.

We offer an alternative to 12-step programs.  Almost 100% of our Program Participants have participated in these programs for years with no lasting results.  Our program is called “One-Step with Jesus” produced and taught by Rev. Robert Vann.  We teach our men how to overcome their addictions not just how to manage them.  We teach sin mortification, not sin management.

We currently offer two housing programs as listed below:

“Special Needs” Housing

Requires a 12 month commitment at one specific housing location

Programs offered include:

• Discipleship Development
• Intense Fellowship
• Work Therapy
• Leadership Development
• Life Skills / Coping Skills through Biblical principles

“Basic Needs” Housing***

Programs offered include:

• Employment Assistance (must have job within two weeks of entering the ministry)
• Two 3 hour relapse prevention meetings per week
• Random drug and alcohol testing for accountability
• In home accountability through buddy system and sign in/sign out requirements
• Home Bible studies

***A weekly program fee is required from each program participant in “Basic Needs” Housing Program.  This program fee is non-refundable and is not rent or board.  See the “Requirements” page for more information.

Meet the Need Ministry, Inc is registered with the State of Georgia as a non-profit corporation.

We qualify under the U.S. Tax Code as a 501 c.) 3 charitable organization.  We will provide year end accounting for all monetary gifts to the ministry.  For any material donations, we will provide a receipt detailing the item(s), but it is the responsibility of the donor to assign a value to the gift for tax purposes.
