MEET THE NEED EXPANDS TO ALLENTOWN PA.

We are so excited that we are now opening our first satellite location in Allentown Pa. Rick Heilman who has been with MTN for 4 years is leaving us to go home and begin his ministry there.
Rick came to us directly from the Gwinnett County Corrections system 4 years ago. He has been a loyal and faithful member of our team and has served on staff with the ministry for the last 2 years. His desire is to use what he has learned about the day to day working of the ministry and his knowledge of the Lord to help other men that find themselves in need of direction.
We are sad to see Rick go ( especially Jane! ) but we are so happy that he is leaving to begin his personal calling and assignment with the Lord. Rick will begin volunteering in Allentown at some local shelters and secure a home where he can house 4 to 5 men. He will continue to be under the umbrella and supervision of Meet the Need here in Georgia.
God bless you Rick. You will be missed by all.

Much thanks to Dennis and Wylene Meyers for the wonderful cake. Farewell Rick Heilman

Meet The Need Ministry men are diligently working on clearing undergrowth in the woods to assemble an area for meditation.  The area is on the property of Meet The Need.  It was overgrown with vines, thorns, weeds, and rotting trees.  The area will be used for meditation, ministry, fellowship, and bible study.

The new requirements for Meet The Need men.

Meet The Need Ministry has recently started a new requirement for  men joining the program.  The new men are required to stay at one of the three homes near the farm for the first 30 days.  During that month Pastor Dean and Rick minister to the new guys and have daily intense fellowship in a one-on-one setting.  Once Dean and Rick feel like they have a firm grasp on where they need to guide an individual they come up with a “Spiritual Growth Plan”.  The plan includes ways to overcome the mans strongholds through the Word of God.  Pastor Bob Vann’s curriculum is studied intensely by the new men on a day in day out basis.

The new men also have a great opportunity to learn new skills that will broaden their spectum for future endeavors.  One of the many opportunities they have is to work with Rene’ in his auto upholstery shop.  Rene’ has been doing auto upholstery for 30 years and is an expert in his trade.  The training the men receive from Rene’ is invaluable.  The men also are trained in gardening and crop cultivating by Steve Outland.  Steve is an professional landscaper, with 30 years experience, who currently owns his own landscaping business, Outlandscapes, which he uses to bless the ministry.

Ruby Doo: Hurricane Katrina Help

Three years later the disaster in Mississippi still emanates throughout the region.  With FIMA houses about to be taken back from the federal government, families still find themselves without homes to live in.  Our part was to help one 80 year old, 13 year widow, to have a home for Christmas.  With multiple trips down to Mississippi, Ruby will be able to spend Christmas in a real home.  Ruby is a woman who loves the Lord and still serves as a pink lady at the hospital, bringing love, hope, and encouragement through song and ministering to her patients.
