Meet The Need has a meeting every Tuesday night at 7pm!

Pastor Bob teaches the men.

Pastor Bob teaches the men.

Come get connected to Meet The Need at our weekly meetings — Every Tuesday at 7pm

Each Tuesday Night a large group of men come together with one common purpose… to learn how to overcome the addictions in their lives. These meeting are not only focused on overcoming drugs and alcohol addiction, but any type of bondage a man may be struggling with. This can be bondage to pornography, sex, gambling, or money.

We are pretty radical in that we do not believe in teaching a man that he will always be an addict. We do not believe that a man  should go to a series of meetings all his life to stand up and say, “Hi, My name is John and I am a drug addict”. We believe they should say what the Word of God says which is that they are an overcomer through Christ Jesus. ( Romans 8: 37  In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us) Yes, they were addicts, but if Jesus lives inside of them, then they are no longer an addict, but an overcomer (Colossians 1:27, Christ, Himself, is in me). We do not believe that a series of meeting will teach you to overcome anything. You can only overcome through Jesus. We also do not believe that addictions are diseases, we believe the Word of God teaches they are sin. We teach that addictions come from strongholds of the enemy that must be broken by the power of the Word and the Blood of Jesus. We believe that the battlefield is in the mind, and the mind is Satan’s playground (1 Corinthians 2:16, I have been given the mind of Christ). We believe that just as Jesus overcame the enemy through the Word, so can addictions be overcome through learning who we are in Christ Jesus. We believe as the Word says that “As a man thinketh, so is he”(Proverbs 23:7). MTN program participants are taught to think of themselves as God sees them, not as society sees them (Ephesians 4:24, I am righteous and holy. 1 Peter 2:5, I am one of God’s living stones and am being built up in Christ as a spiritual house.  Romans 6:1-6, I died with Christ, I died to the power of sin’s rule over my life)

Our Tuesday night meetings are taught by Pastor Bob Vann. Pastor Bob is currently a counselor at The Potters House in Jefferson, GA, as well as an ordained minister and a published author and teacher. He has a masters in Addiction Counseling and is a former addict and inmate. Bob and his wife Maria have dedicated themselves to the teaching of Biblical principals of alcohol and drug recovery. They are in constant demand for speaking engagements as well as the teaching of Relapse Prevention and Mentoring ex-offenders. Pastor Bob may be reached through Meet the Need.

We invite you to experience the powerful work of God that we experience on Tuesday night. Men’s lives are being changed and addictions, stronghold, and bondages are being exposed and dealt with. Please feel free to come any time. You may contact us for directions.

Meet The Need Bible study.

Every morning the men of Meet the Need gather for a Bible study.  The study consists of Proverbs, Psalms, and a chapter in one of the books of the Bible.  The men are also studying Joyce Meyers book “The Battlefield of the Mind”, which is an amazing book that describes overcoming strongholds by cognitive change in a Christian perspective, and T.D. Jakes book “So You Call Yourself a Man”.  The men are also journaling their days events and all are provided a spiritual growth plan.

The new requirements for Meet The Need men.

Donald and Ryan hard at work.

Donald and Ryan hard at work.

Meet The Need Ministry has recently started a new requirement for  men joining the program.  The new men are required to stay at one of the three homes near the farm for the first 30 days.  During that month Pastor Dean and Rick minister to the new guys and have daily intense fellowship in a one-on-one setting.  Once Dean and Rick feel like they have a firm grasp on where they need to guide an individual they come up with a “Spiritual Growth Plan”.  The plan includes ways to overcome the mans strongholds through the Word of God.  Pastor Bob Vann’s curriculum is studied intensely by the new men on a day in day out basis.

The new men also have a great opportunity to learn new skills that will broaden their spectum for future endeavors.  One of the many opportunities they have is to work with Rene’ in his auto upholstery shop.  Rene’ has been doing auto upholstery for 30 years and is an expert in his trade.  The training the men receive from Rene’ is invaluable.  The men also are trained in gardening and crop cultivating by Steve Outland.  Steve is an professional landscaper, with 30 years experience, who currently owns his own landscaping business, Outlandscapes, which he uses to bless the ministry.

Hospital made a visit to the Meet The Need Ministry on Friday, June 26th 2009.  The visit was routine for the animals, and all checked out well.  Brownie and Blaze, The ministry’s horses, had dental work done that included filing of their teeth.  Blaze had to have two teeth pulled.  Apart from that the horses checked out healthy.  Boudreaux, Moses, and Harley, the ministry’s large dogs, were all given annual boosters.  Dr. Frost and Jackie’s expertise and professionalism reflect their dedication to their chosen profession.  Thanks to them, Meet The Need’s animals stay in good health.

Meet The Need men come together to prepare new home for more men in need.

The deck project

The deck project

In early June Meet The Need Ministry men came together to clean and repair a new home to house men in the ministry.  The home has a “cabin” appeal to it and has not been lived in for a while.  Rene’ Alvarez led the ministry men into the repair and cleaning effort.  The entire deck was rebuilt along with its handrails.  The entire home was cleaned thoroughly.  The surrounding land was also cleaned up significantly.  A broken concrete slab was removed and replaced and two support beams were replaced as well.  The teamwork brought forward by the Meet The Need Ministry men was unmistakable and through their hard work the ministry will be able to help more men.

Meet The Need adds new home

Meet The Need Ministry is proud to announce the addition of a home.  The home houses 8 program participants and is the staging area of the new “intense” program for all new program participants.  A new program policy was put into effect approximately two weeks ago requiring all new program participants to live at this home for the first 30 days of the program.  At the end of the 30 days they will be evaluated by staff and it will then be determined if they are ready to proceed to the other homes and initiate their search for employment.
