Ruby Doo: Hurricane Katrina Help

Three years later the disaster in Mississippi still emanates throughout the region.  With FIMA houses about to be taken back from the federal government, families still find themselves without homes to live in.  Our part was to help one 80 year old, 13 year widow, to have a home for Christmas.  With multiple trips down to Mississippi, Ruby will be able to spend Christmas in a real home.  Ruby is a woman who loves the Lord and still serves as a pink lady at the hospital, bringing love, hope, and encouragement through song and ministering to her patients.

Jesus Ties Everything Together — Literally!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just don’t “see” God. I can’t see him & can’t feel him. Here, Louis Giglio invites us to look a little deeper inside ourselves (the physical body) to “see” His amazing work. This video explains just one little aspect of God’s incredible power — His amazing Omnipotence. He’s quite literally “everywhere”.

Project 180

Here’s my letter introducing Project 180

I am writing to share the heart and vision of Meet the Need Ministry with you. We believe God has called this ministry to help men make a 180 degree turn in their life toward God. We know that God has great plans for His children, so we stand on the verse from Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
We believe the spirit of God is calling men and women of God to raise a standard and come against addiction. The Bible says in Isaiah 59:19 “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him”. The enemy has folded our society with drugs, alcohol, and sexual immorality. These sins have seriously damaged the body of Christ by taking men out through addictions. God has shown us that the standard He is raising against the flood of the enemy will be 180 men, women, and ministries within the surrounding churches, prayer groups, and businesses.
God designed it that men are to be the spiritual leaders of the church, their families, and the community. Addictions have prevented godly men from taking on the spiritual role that God called them to. It is our desire and prayer that men struggling with addiction make a 180 degree turn from sin to Christ. We believe to make these changes God will use men to help men. The Word of God says in Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the mind of another”. Meet the Need has answered the call of God to help men make the 180 degree turn in their life; however, this type of ministry needs mentors and money. Mentoring is an important part of our ministry. These men need to be shown by other men who love the Lord that there is a different way to live. Mentoring could simply be a phone call of encouragement, or outings together encouraging Christian growth. We will provide meetings on mentor training sessions.
We believe that men and women of God will come together and support Meet the Need by committing to give $100 a month for 12 months and commit to mentor training; however, any and all gifts are welcomed. The financial support will cover our $18,000 a month budget and free up monies to invest in the lives of men who are serious about making the 180 degree turn toward God. Currently, Meet the Need operates with no salaries and no state or federal funding. We depend God, donations, and program fees.
We desire that men and women of God in the community should raise the standard and mentor or support these men into a new way to live in victory and become leaders in the body of Christ.
