We believe the spirit of God is calling men of God to raise a standard and come against addiction. The Bible says in Isaiah 59:19, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him”. The enemy has flooded our society with drugs, alcohol, gambling, sexual immorality and homelessness. These sins have seriously damaged the body of Christ, families and society in general.
God designed it that men are to be the spiritual leaders in the church, their families, and the community. Addictions have prevented godly men from taking on the spiritual role that God called them to. It is our desire and prayer that men in recovery make a 180 degree turn from sin to Christ. We believe to make these changes God will use men to help other men. The word of God says in Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the mind of another”.
We have committed to shine the light of Jesus into the darkness of men’s lives that they may see their way out of addiction. To make this happen we need godly men to give their time and their money to fulfill this commitment.
Meet the Need Ministry, Inc. has answered the call of God to help men make the 180 degree turn in their life; however this type of ministry needs mentors and financial support. First, mentoring is an important part of our ministry. These men need to be shown by other men who love the Lord that there is a different way to live. Mentoring could be as simple as a phone call for support or outings together to encourage Christian growth. Second, God has given us a vision; the standard that God is raising up against the flood of the enemy will be 180 men’s ministries, men’s prayer groups or individual men in committing to giving $100.00 a month for 12 months.
The financial support will cover our $18,000 a month budget which includes housing, food, clothing, toiletries, transportation and relapse prevention for men who are SERIOUS about making the 180 degree turn toward a godly life.
We believe that men of God in the community should raise the standard by mentoring and financially supporting these men through Meet the Need Ministry, Inc. This will facilitate a new way to live in victory and become leaders in the body of Christ.
